Purpose of Audiometry

Hearing test is carried out to check for both serious and mild hearing loss. Since most human conversations are spoken in the frequency range of 540 Hz to 4000 Hz, we will check if you can hear sounds from 1000 Hz (low range) to 4000 Hz (high range) during hearing test.

Characteristics of auditory disorder

Auditory disorder is often unnoticed at its early stage. It gradually progresses and later affect conversation. That is when a person becomes aware of ithe condition. Hearing disorder caused by noise pollution is characterized by its local hearing loss at around 4,000 Hz.

Conditions detected by audiometry

Mild hearing loss can be caused by ageing, clogging of earwax and middle ear infection.
